long long wait, what to do next?

I am affraid I am just another case of an extream delay with my application.
I submitted my application in Dec 2006, I haven't had an iterview yet.
At the end of september I got a notice of expired fingerprints and had to go and re-do them. Two weeks later I got another notice that the FBI couldn't process my fingerprints and I have to do them again. I did them again and I think it didn't came out well, but I was told by the person who did my fingerprints that becauseI already had to do it twice I will not have to comeback for another 15 months or what ever the time for the expiration is.
In meantime I haven't heard anything back after that.
When I check my case online on uscis website, all I see is that it's pending and the last update date is Dec 4 2006!!!
Any suggestions on what I should do?

well when I call the uscis number I can't even get to a person, I am asked if I've recieved any notices from them within 60 days, and because I did, I get "we are currently working on your case". Of course I can sit and wait for another 30 days when 60 days expire, but I am suddenly very very tired of all the waiting.
and what is Infopass?
 
Call USCIS, choose option 1-2-3 which wil get you to a live person. Tell that person you have filed more than 30 days ago and never received a receipt number (don't tell them anything else, including you did FP). The person will then transfer your call to an IO.

Alternatively, you can schedule an Infopass appointment at your DO from the link at USCIS website:

Make Infopass appointment to talk to a live IO in person in your local DO. Ask him/her what piece of information they still need to schedule an interview in your case. IO should take care of that for you.

My guess is your name check is cleared, and not an issue. If FBI failed to read your FP last time again (and you can verify that yourself today by calling FBI), then IO should direct you to obtain clearance in your local police departments for the last 5 years. Or maybe 7 years, considering 2 years of namecheck black hole?

Anyway, they need push to look at your case.
