Living outside Canada - CP in Montreal

I am a Canadian PR living in Canada and applied for US PR, consular processing at Montreal. Am I required to be living in Canada to be eligible to go to Montreal for CP? Assuming I maintain my Canadian PR, is it not possible to be living in the US while I request CP at Montreal? (I am an Indian citizen)

Yes, you are expected to be living in Canada. Having said that, Montreal will only need a copy of your Maple Card as proof.

Ok, thank you for your response. Don't the rules say consulate can be your country of citizenship OR country of last residence?

I have a similar question. I was living in Canada and designated Montreal as my CP location. I am no longer living in Canada (now in the US) and not a Canadian resident or citizen. Do I have to fill out the I-824 once again to change my CP location? Or can I go ahead with CP in Montreal? Or should I just use AOS whenever the time comes?
