Hello,

I am trying to sponsor my sister and her son to US for a visit. I am looking for a list of documents which I should be sending from my side.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

B visas do not have sponsors.

B visa applicants apply for themselves and either qualify or not based on their own merits. They must show that they have a foreign residence that they have no intention of abandoning, finacial ability to pay their own expense while on their visit, and show ties to home that will make it more likely than not to return home and not overstay the B visa admission.

Ties are things like: home ownership, employment, school, family or other social obligations and activities.

ALL alien applicants are legally presumed to be immigrants until they prove otherwise. INA 214(b).

Documents required for sponsoring visitor visa for your parents.
- Affidavit of support form (Form I-134).
- Letter of Invitation
- Letter to US Consulate requesting that visa be granted to the person you are sponsoring.
- Bank statements
- Bank account verification letter to prove your bank account and bank balance.
- Sponsor's residency status in USA(Copy of passport, Letter of employment, If Green Card Holder: Copy of Green Card front and back, If USA citizen: Copy of certificate of citizenship, If you are a Visa holder Copies of your - Visa (H1/L1), H1 Approval Form (I-797), and I-94).

Providing all this crap is a sure way of defeating the relatives chances of obtaining a non-immigrant visa. How badly do you want her to be denied? Follow this misguided approach and you may never have to see her again unless you depart the U.S.
