Hi all,

I have approved I-140 & I also completed 180 days on I-485. I know I can change employer at current stage. But can the present employer cancel my GC application if I do so?

Secondly, do I have to have EAD to change jobs? Can BCIS ask for any more documents from me or my present employer?

When Present employer attempts to cancel, your new employment offer letter and AC21 option letter should be with BCIS. Else you will get a RFE.
Yes EAD is safer

----- Jaxen is correct if you change employer better update BCIS, your employer can not revoke I-140 now if you get same or similar job. you are safe

---- You can change with H1 transfer or with EAD. If you are getting married in future or have to bring spouse on H4 better to maintain H1b status

---- Before approval of I-485 they may generate RFE for new permanent job offer letter from the new employer (if you don’t update them and many lawyer may advise you to wait for the RFE so that you know what they are asking then reply the RFE). BCIS can ask the evidence from new employer to pay you, he may have to submit financial document of company gross income
