Leaving H-1 and come back student?

I had H1 visa for three years and quit my job end of January this year, working condition was very unpleasant :(

I am going back to HK at the end of March, as I took GMAT in February and applied for MBA program. I plan to return to US as student.

Will I have any problem getting a student visa after I go back?

And also, I have been given a job offer right now (3/1/07) , if I decide to take the offer, what happen to my status? Do I have to go back to HK to re-apply H1 or can I do in US? (I won't be going to grad school in this case.)

Thanks in advance!

H1 alone should not cause problems to F1. Other factors, it depends on your circumstances and the officer at CIS and the US consulate.

If you transfer H1 now, there is no guarantee you'll get approval with I-94 as you are not maintaining H1 status. you have to travel if you get I-797B before joining the employer,
