LCA wages against W2

Hi

I see in one of the threads here that says Wages in W2 should match wages in LCA (while H1/H4 stamping in india).

Is that correct?
In that case, how do they match? I have LCA for current year but don't have W2 for current year (i guess no body got their W2 for 2003). Then how do they compare? Do they match against latest pay slip?

Do they compare W2 wage of last 2 years (2001, 2002)?
I had difference in that because of pay reduced in 2002 and no extra time pay. Is that a problem for stamping? Do i need to get employer letter for that?

please provide more info/guide me here.

---- They will not ask W-2 for 2003, but they can ask for pay stubs and can match with LCA if the wages are being paid according to LCA

--- Sorry I don’t have the correct answer for you many who have same problem LCA wages not matching with W-2 are facing problems in Chennai consulate. 10-15% diffrence should not matter. for more info you can read the other posts and many have posted in past just check the post for last 3 months

do they match wages between LCA and latest month pay * 12 (months)?
or
last year W2 against latest pay stub * 12 (months)?
or
last year W2 against last to last year W2 (months)?

I see different answers for these. I need your answer on this

---- Dear I am sorry, I don’t work in consulate and don’t know what they will match and unable to answer your questions, Only paricular Visa officer who looks at your papers can reply you

Below is my opinion I think they have all your database information including how much you have earned (I am sure they can access all this through just the SSN #) - remember all the databases are linked up now.

Bottomline they already know where you stand by looking at the paystub and W2 they want to make sure that their is no discrepany and maybe also give the person a oppurtunity to explain the difference.

Since I know people who went to chennai their W2 was never asked since I assume there was nothing in their database that might have indicated that there was a difference.
