LC through Sprint

I will me meeting with my lawyer in next week. WIll update you on what happens.

In between... received a letter from Sprint... Any views on that.

Anyone with feedback??

Those that had talked to the lawyers, can you please post what its about?
I have mine scheduled this friday.

Quote from the latest memo
Q. What can we do with the second NOF? There may be cases where even though there were persons laid off with that same job title and same level, the persons laid off did not have the skill set required for the job. In that case, we may be able to explain that the laid off persons were not qualified for the position to be certified, because they did not possess the minimum education and experience required for the position. In other cases, we simply may not be able to assert that the persons laid off did not possess the minimum requirements for the job. In those cases, I would expect the DOL to deny the case after the respond to the second NOF request.

Read the wording: "There may be cases where..., ...,..... In other cases, we simply may not be able to ...."

I don't believe my case will be the lucky one. Good luck everyone. If you don't have a backup plan yet, wrap up, go back to China or India

Sprint lawyers had a meeting with Chicago DOL-reps and got word that we will some movement in pending cases in next 1-2 months.
If Your dept/division didnt had any layoffs in past 6 months if you have a shot at getting LC approved. NOF will happen on many cases, if not issued already.
Sprint can appeal on case by case if LC is denied and you are closing in on 6 yr limit, and during this appeal time your 7th year extension can be done.

Needless to say you are in a jam, if LC gets denied after all this and sprint decides not to file for LC again, my lawyer didnt exactly specify sprint's stand on this issue

Any news at all? My lawyer said there would be some movement this summer. Well, June is here and I bet we will start seeing something. I just hope it is good news.

I would image that if you are in LC process and go to IBM, you have to start all over again. someone correct me if I am wrong. We better find something out from DOL really soon!!! I'm sure they will all be rejected though.

NOF for Sprint labor cases.

Few of the labor certifications have got updated now in regional office. DOL has issued NOF on few of the cases. Updated on 8th Jul 2004.

Have a nice day.

Where did you get this information from? When I talked to my attorney, it was informed that nothing like this had happened. It was just rumour. So, I am curious as to where you got this information from and how valid it is.

If you happen to have your labor case number, dial the following number
1-312-353-1059 --> 1 --> 1. After this enter the labor case number. You will hear the latest status on your case, if there is any update.

One of the case number which follows my case is put on NOF as like me, but the rest of them are not. This is may be because they are getting few cases first.

If you don't have the labor case number, identify the DOT code, your receipt date from the state labor and enter in the following link to find the case number : http://www.flcdatacenter.com/casesearchperm.asp

If you find any problem in getting any information, please post back to this. I will contact you.

Have a nice day.

Thank you.

With regards to my case number, yes I do have it. And I have checking regularly using the same number. My status hasn't changed in the 14 months. I have one NOF already and have been waiting. So, I was curious as per your earlier note, if the NOF you referred to was the first one new applicants were getting, or is it second NOF to folks already waiting. My discussion with my attorney led me to believe that there might be second NOF's for most cases...that's why.

2nd NOF to all Sprint Cases

Today I checked AVM by employer phone number it looks like most of the cases were issued a second NOF, there are some cases which are in the same state, NOF rubuttal received.

I think Sprint is responding....

I think Sprint is responding for the second NOF. But it seems to be DOL never care about legal and honest way of processing. I think they will give approvals to dummy companies whoever is processing for the Money. The DOL does not care about us or our families. After waiting for long time (at least more than two years of most of us), I don't know what is going to be the final decision...........as per the lawyer, the final decision is not much favorable to us....., may be by the grace of god, we may get approvals....

For the Sprint second NOF, the DOL asked very hard/broad questions. They want total number of layoffs from last few years. If DOL compare to Sprint’s total number of employees (60,000+), they never realize that 150 to 200 GC applications is not a bad number at all. These numbers are from last two to three years(filed by Sprint).

Anyway, I am prying for the God to get good news/approvals....

It looks like more and more people are getting 2nd NOF. I still haven't seen anything yet on my case. I talked to a friend of mine and he got his and the thing is, his case number is higher than mine. So, I don't know what is happening to my case.

What is the experience for others? When is the response due? Anybody heard anything back from their attorney's on the chances?
