My wife and I are going through the I-130, I-485 process without a lawyer. I'm just curious how many people have done it with and without a lawyer. I would have liked to put a poll on this thread, but I'm not sure if it's possible on this forum. Hopefully there are a lot of people who have done it without a lawyer. Whenever I tell anyone we are doing it ourselves, they look at us like we are crazy!

You only need a lawyer if you've got "issues" with the case.

No, you are ofcourse not crazy for sure. We did it ourselves without any lawyer & successfully completed the process. All it took us only 4 months. Like BigJoe5 mentoned you don't need no lawer unless you got some issues.

Of course you are definitely not crazy. We do not have any lawyer and their own successful completion of this process. We only spent all of 4 months. Like you do not need any lawyer BigJoe5 mentioned unless you have some problems.
