late in filing OPT

I was supposed to file my F1 OPT by the end date of my program, 4/28. However, due to an oversight, I filed for OPT 5/17. in your experience, how big a problem is this going to be? If it makes any difference, I'm with the Nebraska service center. one customer rep I spoke to said it wouldn't be a big deal, one said it could be, it was up to the adjucator handling my case.
since I don't want to count on getting my OPT approved, I intend to enroll in a second bachelor's program at a nearby university. if I did so, and my OPT got approved, could I then disenroll without affecting my OPT? my F1 visa is valid to 6/06. I assume they would issue me a new I20; I already have the I20 from my former university that says I am recommended for OPT until 5/27/06. as I understand it, now that they are processing my application, I am in status until they accept or reject it. in absence of an application, I would go out of status on 6/28 (and I would of course leave the country).
is there another option, like going on full-time CPT my first term, or going on part-time OPT during the program? also, is it a problem if I later apply to do a master's degree at my original university, and then disenroll from the second college without completing my degree?

you can only do OPT part-time if you are in the same program.

ONce you start a new program, you forfeit your OPT.
