Hi Friends,

I work for a consultancy and started my H1B from Oct 2007. My project is over now and I found out today that my company has not run my payroll for the month of March 2009. I have not spoken to them yet but I believe they will ask me to go back to India.

I would really appreciate if you could tell me how many days I have to find a new project after my payroll has stopped running. I can also do an H1b transfer but don't know if any company would take me in with the kind of contacts I have and with this recession.

As far as I know, there is no grace period. If you are no longer on the payroll, you need to leave ASAP.
