I transferred from F-1 to H-1b in january and got laid off last friday, after being employed for only 5 months. What are my options? I have some questions, please advise -
1. Can I transfer my H1 b to a new employer.
2. If I can't find a new job , when should I apply for B2, how long does it take for B2 approval.
3. When can I change from B2 to H1b again, would there be any problems.
4. Would I have to rely on the new cap or can I use my old H1 when I change from B2 to H1b again.

1. Can I transfer my H1 b to a new employer?
--- yes file transfer ASAP with recent pay stubs
2. If I can't find a new job , when should I apply for B2, how long does it take for B2 approval.
--- better apply for H1 transferand find new employer, B2 will not allow you to work
3. When can I change from B2 to H1b again, would there be any problems.
----- when you get b2 approval notice again you have to file H1 change of status and you will not be able to work till your change of status from B to H1 is approved it may take 5-7 months better file H1 transfer ASAP
