I am an L-1, I withdrew my I-140, and requested change of status to F-1.
Does anyone have some experience with this kind of situation, so that I can understand what my odds are to get the F-1 on time for Fall?
While I-140 is not as strong of an indicator of immigrant intent as I-485, your COS to F1 will likely be denied. Consulates are more qualified to determine whether you have strong ties to your home country, so USCIS will likely defer you to get a visa stamp.
Can I still hope though?... I may lose my job AND no green card AND end up with a denial... Was anyone in my situation successful with such a move?
I have letters from past/current employers from outside the US that state their clear intention to hire me outside the US once I am done with school. Will that help?
