Sorry for posting so many related queries.

But I wanted to know of anyone who used
AC21 and has successfully got citizenship or not.

I specifically want to know what their experience
was during the interview.

That's amazing that no one knows of a person
who used AC21 getting citizenship?

Is everyone waiting until the sponsoring organization
gets of the N400 form (only have to list last 5 years
of employers)!

One thing to remember is that it's only been over 5 years since AC21 was signed into law, and the tech crunch that caused a lot of prospective immigrants to lose jobs happened a year later.

I invoked AC21 in 2002; I was one of the earliest to do so and didn't become a permanent resident until two years later - so my naturalization won't occur until 2009 at the earliest. I don't think you'll find a lot of AC21 cases applying for natz until the 2007-2008 timeframe.

Did you apply for naturalization?

So how was your experience during citizenship

I had a question on AC21 and US citizenship. Can somebody please help me out.

My GC was approved in July 2007. However, my sponsoring company laid me off a month after they filed I-485. However, they did not withdraw the application. I took up a new job with same title and same duties and my GC got approved in July 2007. However, I never filed AC21. Do you think that would be a problem when I go for my US citizenship. Will they question me as to why I was still not working with the company that filed my GC when I received the GC OR why I did not go to work for the company after receiving my GC.

The company is no longer doing any IT work. They are still in business business but they have lost all their IT work. They are only focusing on environmental consulting work now.

Thank you,

Should not be a problem.

I'd be shocked if they did. If they do, you just tell them that you found a similar job prior to GC approval. End of story.

Filing AC21 documentation with USCIS is optional unless they specifically request information about your employment after your job change. The main reason for filing it without USCIS asking for it is to protect yourself from the employer revoking your I-140.

Since you made it all the way to GC approval without USCIS sending RFE about your job change and without the employer asking USCIS to revoke your I-140, your lack of filing AC21 doesn't matter. What matters is that the job you took met the "same or similar" criteria for AC21.
