Hi all,
I am a masters graduate student and I am currently in OPT status......
here is my OPT start and end date:
OPT start date : July 5 , 2006.
OPT end date : July 5, 2007.
I am currently searching for a Job in US and I already got an email from one employer that they cannot hire since H1 B cap is finished.
My question is this ?.....
I need to know that suppose I get a job and I apply for H1B visa in april 1 then the earliest that I can work would be in October 1.......
Since my OPT has 60 days grace period I can stay in US without working till September 5, 2007.
Therefore, I need to know that is there any way in which I can continue to work in US after my EAD expires. ????
Someone told me that I can take a course and continue to remain in status after my OPT expires but can i continue to work in that case ?..........
Also I needed to know that suppose I apply for masters quota H1 in april 1 2007 can I take a H1 start date for working before October 1 under masters quota ?.....
nother question is that DO COMPANIES HIRE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR H1B IN APRIL.......(I already got a reject from one company )since they would be knowing that there is a gap between EAD expiration and H1 start date ?....I would like to know this because then a better option would be to leave USA and go back to india and look for work in india rather than waiting for 1 year ......
Any help or suggestions or advice I would be really really thankful........
