I married 10 years ago ... not sponsor of my K1, so could not adjust status. My husband says that the only way I can adjust status is to go abroad and apply for waiver. I don't believe him ... just trying to keep me here. He hit me once nine years ago ... and I can get some friends to say how mean he is to me. He always complains the controls me. Can I adjust status with a VAWA application?

If the only instance of violence is an unreported one 9 years ago, you are certainly not abused. If you are not legally in the US and do not wish to remain with your spouse, you should conssder going home rather than asking friends to lie on legal documents.

The instance nine years ago was reported ... he went to court, went to anger managment coonseling and that was it. I call police a couple weeks ago because I said he thretened to kill me ... but they let him stay at the house and we've been in the house ever since. My friends can atteste to my good moral caracter and to his lack of appreciation of me.

You came to the US on a K-1 visa sponsored by person-A and ended up marrying person-B? If that is the case, you cannot adjust. As simple as that.

No. You came on person-A's sponsored K-1. Your only avenue to a green card was via marriage to person-A.
