I'm in an uncomfortable situation. I immigrated from the UK to the US in 2002. My green card expired in 2004/2005 and I was never able to file the removal of conditions due to financial hardship (though I doubt I could prove such).
It's recently been brought to my attention because my drivers license expired and I'm unable obtain a new one without a green card or proof of citizenship.
So, I guess I'm looking at filing I-751 a full 5 years too late and I'm of course very worried. I am still married and have a 9 month old daughter and a house. I have been working for the last 4-5 years.
Is there any other route that I can go ?
What kind of evidence will I need if (more like when) I am summoned to the interview at my local service center ?
Is it possible that I could be fired from my current employment via the government notifying them that I am not a legal citizen ?
Thanks for any advice.
