Just wondering.....

Does anyone know how many backlogged EAD's there were before CSC set that as a priority and started working on them? Or conversely, H1B's?

The reason I'm wondering is that within 1-2 months of making it a priority they brought the JIT date to 90 days. If we could get a sense of the numbers, we could speculate how long it would take to clear the backlog of 485's if and when they make it a priority (plus an allowance for 2nd FP's and RFE's).

I can only hope that as they indicated that they would make 485 processing a priority Oct. 1, and I don't know why I would believe them given their history, but like I say I can only hope they do, who knows they might reduce the backlog in months.....and yes Virginnia, there is a Santa Claus, Bill Clinton did not have sex with that woman, the check is in the mail.........

it is very different

485 is very different in 2 senses
1. It requires more rigorious checks because the decision is final about if the person can move around, in and out for the next 10 years. EAD is a simple decision to make: if a person has a valid i485 pending give him/her an EAD.
2. According to my laywer BCIS have much more urgent cases to clear backlog of. Family based, citezenship (remember elections 2004). They said at a meeting she was in that i485 guys can wait because they can get EAD and AP. EB i485 are at the very bottom of of their priorities stack.
