She's quite nice throughout, but not very helpful (just like what previous posts described). She said they are putting new officers to handle I-485 cases, and the delay was due to transition to BCIS. And the speed will pick up blah blah blah.

My case was filed in 9/2002, and she said my case should be touched in 8 or 9 months (she must be kidding? :o ) .

One finding is that her accent is very similar to a nurse I met. The nurse was from Thailand.

I mailed them (to CSC I-485 mailbox) the address change letter 2 months ago and the address has been changed. So this way of notifying CSC about address changes does work...:D

ganshm,
I am also one of those 9/2002.....I guess 8 - 9 months is kinda OK. But, I have a strong feeling that we will get RFE by sep and approved before the year end....Touch wood....

You guys must be kidding!! 8-9 months to clear 18 months of backlog no way!! Hey but this is the Bullshit Called Immigration Services (BCIS) so anything can happen Good luck!!

If '9/2002 case' touched in '8 or 9 months' then
my case '1/2002' has to be touched on may 13th'

Who knows!

Soumy, it could happen, if they started firing all cylinders on 485s .. TODAY.. though one good thing, that she said they are hiring more people.

Regards the thai nurse .. hmm !!

I talked to an IIO today at 3:40pm (got through at 3:15 pm) and she has an accent too... she said that FP request will be sent in a week since I guess my original one expired. The receipt date on mine is 11/20/01. Can anyone tell me what other steps before an approval.

I talked to IIO, too.

The reason for delay was "BCIS is going through 100 day postpartum."

He sounded like a Doc. :)

Funny that 9/02 filers are calling INS! :)

I would think we would be lucky to get our cases assigned in the next year. The way things are going, unless there is a slam bang of cases being approved left right and center, we are in for the long haul people. Tighten those belts and prepare to wait. I for one refuse to call INS and give them the pleasure of thinking "Hmmm another idiot I conned. Told him he would get his case assigned in the next 2 weeks! HEHEHE"

You guys wonder if all the IIO's meet up at the water cooler and discuss, "Hey today I did absolutely no work and approved no cases". Another goes, "That is nothing, I haven't done any work for 1 week". Suddenly there is silence and the music from good, bad and the ugly, This guy in a cowboy hat goes, "You guys are joking, I have been working here 2 years and not a since case has gone by me!" :(

No change in the JIT - so what exactly are so many people doing in CSC - unless all have taken part time jobs in Disney land :D

For the last 8 months I have been telling my folks that I will get my GC in 2 months. Now even they have stopped asking after I told them that getting your case through CSC was akin to getting your work done at some Govt office back home.

Now I realise why people are so happy when they get their approvals, it is not because of the freedom of being a resident, but freedom from the 'babudom' of BCIS.

God bless us all with approvals very soon.
