Lost Passport & the efforts to track it

Hello Folks

As I posted before, its confirmed again that my passport
is lost. I talked to St Louis office and sent across my information.
St Louis identified the box number they sent and informed that
to DC. But still DC could not find out my passport. They are going
to send a letter and reimburse the money. So thats the end of the
painful waiting.

I strongly recommend every one of you to call DC and confirm that
they have your passport information in their computer, Unless there is
some problem. Previously some people posted here that its not necessary
to ( or its disturbing ) to call those customer support people there. But
I think its a good idea to call and confirm that they updated your information.

By the way I need to add that the customer support is very mean
and non co opertive and non understanding. But its your passport and
legal documents!

I have a feeling that DC office is purposely delaying the revalidation now since the deadline for application for correction/221G due to missing documentation is September 30. It seems that they want to reduce the workload after September 30 and process only pending applications after 30th. They will start sending the application with minor issues around the end of this month so that people have no choice but to apply it in the home country. It is just my thought.

askgc, Why do you say that your application would get processed any time now? I don't think the MO is cashed in DC, but in St. Louis. My MO was cashed on Aug 5th and I still havent received my passport.

btw, my tickets to India are booked for Oct 16th. Frantically checking fedex.com every day :)

The date I posted was not for check cashing, it is the date on which my
passport received in DC. The lady at DC office said that my case will be
processed any time now. She also said that they are doing cases received
in August at DC. Hope this clears up. Also you can setup to send e-mail
notification from fedex.com with the airbill number.
 
passport back!

Got my stamped passport back today. They did however break my last name with an extra space. The spelling is correct. Do you guys think I should send it back to be corrected or it is not a big deal?

Got H1/H4 stamp for me and my wife

I have been a silent reader of this thread. Wanted to share my experience.
I applied for my H1 and wife's H4 for revalidation. Got a 221g letter and they asked me send detailed and comprehensive employer letter.

In my first attempt (june'29), I sent all the documents including my employer letter, last 6 mnts pay stubs etc.

Accordig to the letter I have to resubmit my application with the 221g letter before 30th Sep. I resent my documents again on 15th Sep and got it back on 23rd Sep.

I was asked not to send the fees again. but i sent a copy of my moey order receipt.

I submitted my passport on july 13(recv at stlouis off. on 13)but i dont know if it has been forwarded to DC.how do u guys know when it was received by DC office.Plz help .I am really worried .I dont have Trackker number for returning envelope.
Plz add my information to the list too.

AditiNayar,

have you sent the required fees. If it's a money order, then call and talk to the issuing authority and ask then when was this encashed.
If it's a personal or company check , then check with the bank.

And regd your tracking of the post, it tough if you don't have the tracking number. There is no way you can track with out the tracking number. Good luck.
