Job Opportunity before EAD

Hi,

I just submitted my I-130 and I-485 packages to the Chicago Lockbox. (Just yesterday!) I now have a couple of interviews for next week and the weke after. It would be so great if I could help my possible employers get a better view on how we can work together while I am on a pending status.

I am currently on B-2 visa. Any tips and information would be greatly appreciated.

You can interview with prospective employers. You may even accept any offers that come your way. However you cannot start working until you get your EAD.

Thanks for enlightening me on that I was thinking that they could hire me under a "consultant" status for the time being. To be legal at least. I guess not.

Have there been cases like mine that you know of?

plenty. You still can't work until you have EAD in hand.

Triple Citizen & LucyMo are right. EAD with 1 year validity is usually issued in about 90days. On receipt of EAD you will need to get SSN which may take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.

Sort of a similar situation here. Interviewing several companies in the coming weeks (but all of them know about my situation). The can make a job offer, but I can't accept until I have an EAD as far as i know (that is what I told them, anyway).
