Hi Folks,

I have to fly to the U.S for a job interview. Given the current state of the economy, I am hesitant to tell the immigration officer of my real intent to enter the U.S.

Since the company is paying for the trip and given the short nature of the trip (no more than a couple of days), I can't say that I am vacationing.

I am looking for suggestions and similar experiences that folks might have had.

Thanks in advance

I've flown and driven to US for job interviews before. I just told the CBP officers the truth and they never had any problem with it. Don't worry about it. It is ok to go to US for job interviews.

Don't try to start your life in US with a big fat lie!

TN's are not required to prove that they aren't taking someone's job. Only those applying for permanent residence need to show that they are not displacing a US worker. You are not applying for permanent residence. You are a temp, pure and simple.

Tell them why you are going, show them the invitation, and your return ticket, and you will have no problem.

Tell them a lie, and then have them find your resume, etc, and expect to be denied entry, and have that denial on your permanent file.
