It is entirely possible that lot of cases are waiting security checks or further scrutiny. So what do you do when you are stalled on certain cases.
Till there is further info on previous cases you can start working on future
cases. And the old cases then get approved as an when data becomes
available.
And I am sure every case is different. I am now almost convinced about
USCIS argument that every case is different. So every case might be
treated differently. I would be surprised if they don't have multiple levels
of scrutiny. Certain cases might be very straightforward and might
need only first level of scrutiny.
Most people who engage their head before their mouth (140_takes_4ever's
fav line which he doesn't seem to understand himself) will only
know that this is an advantage to us. This gives us the leverage to
argue that our cases are due for processing. As opposed to having no
leverage with USCIS at all.
Are you totally incapable of having a discusion with out getting personal?
Allow me to refute you on a couple of points that I think you missed:
1. Going by 50% approval numbers, are you trying to say that 50% of the people have anomalies in their cases? In which case there is either a problem in INS's criteria list for checking of anomalies or something wrong in your "assumption".
2. Going by your analogy of kids and thrash that you posted for Kadamtal, this is not a case of waiting for the checks to be completed, but a case where a majority of the people waiting, haven't even seen any kind of movement in their cases. I mean no FP/RFE or touch dates. That doesn't quite gell with your analogy of picking up all the thrash in one room and waiting for the garbage truck to come, instead gells more with picking up one toy and saying "I am done".
3. As far as date crossing the JIT and sending faxes, DO you really think it will help? All INS has to say is "hey your approval is pending security check". Which effectively means shut your mouth, and forget about your GC!
Get real with your assumptions. It is okay if you want to live in a pipedream, but if other people are truly concerned that INS is playing smoke and mirrors with us, then let them be. I for one, DONT believe that 50 % of the cases are different. I believe a number of us have the same background. Background checks and security checks are just excuses. Think how ridiculous they are, a terrorist with EAD/AP free to travel around the country waiting while INS takes this long to find out? I would say security checks should be instantanious. With the cost of processing power these days, invest more money in better computers and crunch the numbers damn it.
