Can we use Courtesy copy of I-140 approval notice to file for I-485.

I am having problems getting original I-140 approval notice from my attorney, even after paying him his final bill. I am self petitioned can I us my courtesy copy of I-140 approval to file for I-485.

You can use a copy but

If you want the original call the attorney and tell him to send it immediately, or you will call the appropriate authories and file an ethics complain.
He\'ll send the original.

I have fired my attorney two months ago ,Now he wants me to sign G-28 to get my original I-140 approval notice from INS!.I asked does that mean you have lost it ,he tells me he has not lost it but he changed his office and he has not opened all the mail and his office file boxes.
should I just go ahead and file I-485 with courtesy copy of my I-140 approval.I am a self petitioned NIW.I am tired of begging my attorney.
any advise will be appreciated.

Based on your discussion, it seems that the original I-140 approval notice is preferred (required) for 485 AOS. Am I correct? Thanks.

I do not Know.that is the reason I am asking for opinions or facts from this board.

Opinion

Scenario 1:
You send the I485 application with courtesy copy. INS says that the application is incomplete but takes 2 months to do that. This time you have to go and beg again.
Scenario 2:
You can complain to AILA or the local bar association and negotiate a settlement to get the I140 original approval from your lawyer.

This is all advice from my arm chair.

I spoke to the IIO when I filed my 485 with courtesy copy of 140 and she said it was OK

So did they accept your I-485 application with the the courtesy copy or did they reject it as incomplete. which center & when did you apply .please reply
