Dear seniors,
I have H1B visa, expires in August end, due to some reasons I never traveled to US .
I heard through my friends that I should travel before 180 days of my Visa expiry(AUG end '03). Is it true.

Kindly give advice .

Thanks in advance.

Theres no such rule (have to travel 180 days before visa expiry). However, if you do not join the sponsoring employer within a certain period of time (not sure, either 30 or 60 days) the H-1B petition is invalid and cannot be used for entry purposes. There would be problems at the POE if you attempt to enter if thats the case.

Your mileage might vary. However if you have a recent dated letter from employer about starting of project etc. you should be able to enter US. The 30-60 days validity is generally valid for H1 transfer candidates who are already in US.
