Jaxen & others,

There are 2 issues to this:

1) Upload Limit on file size.
2) Lots of activity in TSC (causing lots of excitement and lots of posting in this thread by many new contributors)

some of us have joined offline discussions to see how to manage this and if you or others want to be included please send your email to goastros.

Now due to issue (1) : the file needs to be split and this has caused lots of complexity.

In the past we have asked people to post comments on this :
(posted on 2/9)

Hi ALL,

How has your experience been with the MULTIPLE files ?? or do you prefer a SINGLE Consolidated file ?

We have been discussing this offline ..... but please post your experience.

Regards.

But not many people have responded so we have had to make decisions. (abt spliting into multiple files)

So q. for Jaxen could you help remove the 1MB upload file limit for this thread only ??? this will ease lots of pain.

2) Thanks for all the new members who are contributing but the "core" group ...goastros, pradha, ramanathansudha etc have to have to decide and provide direction to the effort.

I am included in the offiline mailing lists from the core group and I can tell you that there are lots of emails exchanges everyday it is amazing how much effort and hardwork they are putting into this. (Pleople who just see the files posted here do not realize how much is happening in the background).

Do you want the core group to stop posting in this thread ?
Do you want the core group to protect the file using a password so that people who do not contribute (...they want to have a free lunch ...) are kept out.

Have you ever thought what is the driving force, what is the motive behind all the core group ?

Guys wake up to the reality.
Time for some introspection.

Regards.

Summarises my mind ENTIRELY

gUYS, I don't want to take any credit for being part of the core group which is composed of some Indians, one chinese pro, and a scandinavian.

UNITY HELPS MORE THAN BICKERING AND QUARELLING.

Lets take a minute to thank the Data Consolidation team and help make this a gathering place for souls troubled with immigration woes.

Another suggestion

Jaxen,

Could you please limit the number of "Important" threads.
Currently there are 7 important threads this limits the number of threads on the First Page.

Normally people only browse the first page and because there is lot of activity some threads will fall to the subsequent pages within hours of posting.

Maybe you could have one "important" thread which has links to other threads.

About important threads..

There are many things that are important about important threads.
1. How long they are alive and are viewed? That tells whether they are important or not.
2. Who started it? What is noble about it? What is unique about it? Does it favor a promotion to FAQ section? Is it relevant still, today?
3. There are various efforts, initiatives that might seem dormant now, but are relevant for somebody in the forum. How do I justify how I close a thread or mark something important, worst still mark somthing which was important last week as unimportant today? It is a judgement call (and I am getting help soon from new volunteer moderators in TSC)

Least of all, I dont want to base these decisions just because there are 7 of important threads in this forum, If you are not affected or not related to at least one of those please let me know, I will unstick it. Please give some reason why one or any of those important threads needs to be unstuck.

Regarding bunching them in one important thread, I wish I can bunch all those repetitive questions that appear every week into one thread- stupid Qs. How many "Urgent" posters have read the past posts and the responses? Honestly tell me.

Dont mistake me, I accumulated this post count mainly because I went after threads which did not have any response at all, but demanding a structure that does not favor a FAQ structure- not fair.
Every time I login The lurkers always outnumber the registerd users. Does it mean anything?

I agree with Ramnathsunda that bickering is not good and people should pass comments about others getting a free lunch. That too when that person is doing is something questionable like checking other peoples Immigation progress which he has no right to do in the first place.

deepak are you incensed by the data consolidation project?

Think about it. All you get from that SRC number online is what is happening to that petition. Yes, some might think this applicant is so stupid , he/she has not even sent the right fees. But there are not very personal (and compromising) information revealed by the message online.
I also thought that SRC s are like SSNs, I dont think so now.

Regarding people asking for more details about your petition when you say it has been approved- you have to be fair to this forum. The trackers have a purpose- an impersonal analysis of finding a trend and projection on their own pending case. Getting a RFE is not shameful.

Unless you share the suffering and how you came out winning (or losing), posting your news is useless to this community.

I do ignore people who want to "steal" news from here and insist on the poster to reveal all the details before answering a genuine question or doubt.

If you are hit with such abusers, report the post to a moderator, You might get the answer you wanted, instead of holding to ransom Qs- what service center? what RD? you should be a dumb H1B etc...
