Hello Everybody,

I need help...

Here is the case. I just got my greencard approved which i thought would not happen that soon. But Unfortunately i got it approved sooner ie on March 17th.

I got married in jan'03 ...i thought i would bring her on H4. but before i could bring her on H4, I got my greencard approved.

Now all your gurus, pleaes help me. What do i do to bring her here soon?

Please please do advice me.

Since the marriage happened before GC approval date you are in luck. File for follow to join app for your spouse ASAP. your lawyer should be able to do this for you easily. The process is similar to consular processing of GC, with your apporoval and marriage certificate it should be easy to get interview appt. at the home consulate.
 
I just included my marriage cert to my pending I485 application, and intent to bring my wife on a follow-to-join.

I noticed VSC is processing I-824 applications from FEB 2002!! Which is more than a year behind.

Are Follow-To-Join I824 petitions processed quicker than the others who file I824 as part of AOS.

Any opinions ?

How can the I-824 be extended to more than a year now for spouse follow-to-join?!! I was really horrified to find out the time being stretched from the 3-months to 1 yr now. Is there anything we can do, such as petitioning on the issue, so that the rules can be altered?

Follow the follow to join thread. This is in marriage based category. There are lot of information out there. I think all questions of follow to join have been answered on this thread. Hundreads of people are going thru this follow-to-join in India specially. You will meet them over there. Read all the postings to gather knowledge before asking any question on this thread.


Remember, US consulates in INDIA dont require the I-824 approval to proceed your wife's follow-to-join. They just need the receipt notice. They are very helpful on it. People getting things done within a year. Therefore, dont wait to get the I-824 approved.

If you need more information, let me know. Before that you go to that thread. This process can be little frustrating than you expect.. you have to hang on.. as you will deal with embassy in INDIA not with service center.
