Jaxen, help-EAD and H1B problem

Hi friends,

this afternoon my friend told me that if my wife uses EAD card, I will lose my H1B status automatically because my wife's I-140 and I-485 application is based on my application.
Is this correct?
Right now I am working on H1B and my wife is working using EAD card. Any problem for us.
When I applied for H1B renewal last month, no any problem. my wife started to use EAD six months ago.

Please give your opinion.

I dont think what ur friend told is true.

As long as u maintain ur H1, it should be fine.

If you are the principal applicant for I-485, your dependent can use EAD without affecting your H1 status.
However if you use EAD, you will lose H1 status AND your wife will lose her H4 status as well.

Why is that wrong? Using an EAD to work for another employer means you are no longer in H-1B status. No H-1B for you, no H-4 for your spouse.
