Hi,

I need your opinion. Recently (Receipt Date: Jan 11th,2002), I
applied for AOS in employment category. Along
with 485 filing, I filed for EAD and AP. I applied for my family also (wife
and son). All this is filed at CSC.
On Mar 7th, I am in receipt of AP approvals for myself and son. (But the AVM says "received on jan 11th and processing xx to xx days). When I
checked up the AVM for my wife, it says it\'s approved. But till today I
haven\'t received the approval notice.

Today, my wife called up INS CSC and checked the mailing address. The
Immigration Officer informed that the address is correct and should be
getting it soon.
Today, we both went to INS local office in San Jose. There the receptionist
informed us that they cannot issue advanced parole as they donot have
information about the case.
Due to some family emergency, she need to travel to India on or before MARCH
21,2002.

So, I need your opinion as to what are my options.
Please reply.
Thanks

Do you have the AP receipt for your wife...

How come the receptionist said no info. Even after showing the AP receipt?
Anyway, the district office (San Fran?) is qualified to give you AP.

Generally if you go early (like 6-7 AM) you can get the AP done by the same day. If you have the receipt of AP and air ticket they might issue AP free of cost. But just to be in the safe side take the money order for the requisite amount. Take all necessary documents (I485 receipt, AP receipt, Picture ID, passport)
If it is an emergency the local INS should issue an AP.
