Last week end, we saw a fab posting of 05/23 RD getting approval on Jan 6th.
This is the third known case for May RD getting approval.

Suddenly, I have started feeling wonderful.
This is the week, when we will come to know about what INS really means by new AVM.
Frankly speaking , I am expecting at least 25 approvals for April/May RD folks in this week.

Let us hope for the best.

    Wishing luck to All.

Can you please substantiate ....

Suddenly, you have started rushing my blood all over my brain.
Where , why, how, what, which, place you saw flood of approvals?
I saw 3 /4 on this forum, but that is average number.....

I am waiting eagerly for your answers

substantiate

well - peoples avm got updated on dec 29 and then on jan 4 people r getting approved

some people may not have checked avm or their snail mail - or they may be too overwhelmed to post messages

one person with may rd also got approved

I thought INS gods r still in hangover stage for this week but we r seeing approvals - which is a good sign - I expect that rather than catching their heads with hangover headaches - they r invigorated by the holidays and have gone to work with renewed vigor and top gear and r trying to make up for lost time

I pray that all of us get our approvals soon - i am u know praying to all the

7th went without a single May Rd AOS approval but.....

we have got a lot of approvals in general.
Hopefully batch processing has began for AOS 485 cases.
What it means is , May/June RD folks can expect AOS in this month if not tomorrow.

Also, there is a possibility that we may hear about some more approvals in the night when the phone will get connected to INS DIRECT

Thanks to everyone at ImmigrationPortal.com. This site is simply amazing. Keeps the stress of awaiting for GC approval out_of_reach. I am sure, November FP cases can expect approvals soon. I don\'t know how much Vishnu Mahdev\'s predictions helped other junta, but in my case, it appears to have worked. Thanks everyone once again and good luck to you all too.

looks like INS updates the AVM every 15 to 20 days....reg. FP mesg

I was looking at the Aug thread and the guys who did their FP in the first week of Nov 01 and had a previous AVM mesg of " FP collected on Nov 16th and pending review " ........have now got a the new mesg " FP received on Dec 29 OR Jan 4 and processing has resumed "

now this makes me believe that around Jan 20th ( + / - 5 days ) , the AVM for the guys which says " FP ......on Dec 6th and pending review "...........TO......." FP ...and processing has resumed "

these are just my thoughts upon studying and analysis the data from the april, may, june, july, aug threads

2 people got approval on 9th January 2002.
This flood is so forceful that many of my friends are taking me to a shrink in the evening.

all my hopes are now S. Singh\'s super duper theory.
INS has approved all the cases and they will update all the cases on one day the coming week end.
S. Singh -> You are the only saviour man. I take back my words in sheer hope.

Talked to IIO

I talked to IIO just now. Here is what she said

1) Mine and my wifes finger prints were received and are ok.
2) Case has not being assigned to an officer
3) Should be a short period of time when case will be assigned
4) No estimate on how long it would take to get approved.

ND 08/01, AP 08/18/01, EAD 11/07/01, FP 11/21/01 done 11/03/01 , FBI cleared 11/07/01, collected in INS 11/16/01, processing resumed on 12/29, waiting for I485 approval.

S. Singh, Approvals CANNOT be a batch process just by the nature of the beast...

Anything that is processed by Officers on a case-by-case basis cannot be a batch process. What could be batch process is :
1) Generation of FP notices.
2) Updating AVM for "FP\'s collected ... Pending review" to indicate that your FP\'s were processed by FBI and returned to INS.
3) Updating AVM for "FP review collected... processing resumed" to hopefully indicate that the background check and all other agency reports have been received and that your case is adjudication-ready.
I would imagine that as and when each Officer approves or RFE\'s a case a flag is set which then triggers an AVM update on a nightly basis.

Therefore I don\'t buy the flood on the 12th either. Bottomline, we have no facts to substantiate any flood theory.
It was understandable to expect a bigger trickle of approvals of all cases that were pending on Officers\' desks for a week or 2 after the holidays. As I posted some days earlier, one or more of the following has to happen to speed up the process and create a potential flood :
1) INS adds more resources to the I-485 adjudication division. If this happened we would hear about it.
2) INS focuses priorities on faster I-485 adjudication. No way to predict that this will or will not happen. INS supervisors peridoically assess the situation and focus priorities as necessary.
3) Officers that were diverted to Data entry and File room functions are restored to primarily adjudicate I-485 applications. This is likely as the mail room seems to have caught up with the backlog.
4) INS realizes that there are a lot of anxious, antsy folks on this board who are expecting a flood. Like they care :-)
5) INS officers work harder, faster, smarter. This assumes they have not been. No facts to support that :-(

Only factors 2 and 3 above are remotely realistic. Until then no flood. I am desperately hoping I am wrong. Its just that folks have been predicting a flood for the last 2 months now. Nothin much has happened. All I have seen is 1 maybe 2 measly MAY RD approvals.
