J1 Waiver Hire A Lawyer?

I am planning to start the J1 waiver process for "no objection statement" (skills). Do I need a lawyer to help in the process or can I do it myself?.

you can do it yourself. Your lawyer cannot do anything for you in this case, but to check your applications for completion.

The people in charge of Visa related issues in my University toll me to hire a lawyer. Obviosuly they don´t have experience in this kind of process.

This is a simple process that you can complete all by yourself...all the intruccions are on the DOS website, you can start online where the DOS will asign a case number right away...

Statement of reason

I started my application online at the DOS website. But before a case number was assigned, I have to write a statement of reason? Could anybody tell me what is that?
