J1 Visa waiver - Pls help me

Hi there,

Here is my visa detail...
- I m from India
- I m having visa upto 30th June 2007
- I am subject to 212[E] as per the stamp on Visa page in passport...
- My visa category is Training visa (Practical training) with host company

Now let say I am going to marry US citizen girl...

- Is it possible to appy for waiver once i return back to India ( NORI)
- What is the possibilty to get it successed ( as it is mrg case )
- Do I need to submit any proof as I am going to marry US citizen girl ?
- Should I go thru lawyer or...easy to hadle with single hand ?
- Any other imp detail which shld i take care most?

how about you first read the topics in this subforum first? they cover a lot (if not all) of your questions.
 
Oh..yeah thats I realized. But I can not see any information related to q1 and q3....pls guide me if you have some idea on it.

yes

your intent to marry a USC is irrelevant. Only the marriage itself may have some value.

btn...What possiblity do you see to get it successed in this case. I mean is that gonna create any wrong impact with Dept Of State ( due to marriage ?) or...will it be just fine.

Also...If I plan for J1 to F1...Is that good step for me (I m not sure 2HRR will applicable to me once I am converted to F1 from India and then from US i can start process for Green Card based on F1 )

You may guide me for any other good option if you have in yr mind.

HRR is still applicable, no matter what visa you got after your J-1 program, unless you get a waiver or spend two years at home.
