J1, h1b can I go back to j1?

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum.
I came to USA on J1 visa, hold it for 3 years, got the waver and than I moved to h1b visa. I'm on h1b for about one year.
Can I hold j1 visa again?
Pls advice

It depends. The waiver can be constructed as immigrant intent, so you might be denied a J-1 visa stamp or adjustment of status to J-1. Consult with a lawyer. There is definitively risk involved in this maneuver.
 
My lawyer also said that there is some risk involved. My wife has changed from H1-B to J-2 and she was fine.
 
@ Maridia.... I am on a J1 visa at the moment. How can I switch to a H1B visa? Did you have to go back to your home country to apply for theH1B or have you been able to apply for it, in the states? What kind of work did you do.... and how long did the H1B process take to get approved?
