J-1 to H-4

Hello all
I am a resident doctor on J-1 visa with 2 yr HRR and my husband is on H-1 . We wanted to know if its possible for me to go to H-4 till the time we can move together to a place I can do my waiver?
Also if its possible would this affect our GC application in any way ?
Is it possible to change from J-1 to J-2 and complete the 2 yr HRR later on?
 
No, you can not change to H4 or H1 or J2. How can you change to J2 without J1 principal applicant? J2 is a dependent visa to those on J1 which is not your case. Even if there is a J1 principal, it is not allowed to keep switching between J1 and J2 to stay in US before doing 2 year home country residence, waiver or serve in low served area.

does anyone know around how many publications should you have to apply in EB 1. i ve heard 2-3, some say 10 publications.does anyone has any experience ?

The J-1 to J-2 issue I was asking for my friend who is on J-1 but since not getting waiver job in the area where her husband is doing his residency ,she wants to convert to J-2 on his J-1 and do J-waiver later after he finishes his residency
