IV POE Experience at JFK

I would appreciate some information from anyone with a recent POE experience at JFK. My father got his IV and will enter USA at JFK in a few days. I am trying to gather information such as what documents he should be carrying, as well as what to expect at the immigration - the process/wait time/questions etc.

He will be sent to secondary after presenting his passport and the sealed envelope at the booth. At secondary, the sealed envelope will be opened and his immigrant visa will be processed. Seeing that he will land at JFK, this might take 2 hours or so.

JFK receives MANY people, including immigrants, so processing takes longer there.

It is a large airport with thousands of people arriving with similar benefits like your dad. Nothing to worry about, I hope you plan to meet him there, it is now a mini-city in NY. I won't travel via JFK again after my recent experience there...lol!
