Is the I-94 issued till the date of valid visa or till the date of I-797 approval

Please reply ASAP is you can.
I have my visa valid till July , 2004. My new (after H1B renewal) I-797 is valid till August 2006. If I re-enter US with this visa and I-797, will the I-94 that is issued be valid till July 2004 or till August 2006. Your help is appreciated.

The i94 will be stamped with the date of expiration of your I797.

----- at POE you MUST show the new H1 approval notice and passport Visa and by law you will get I-94 till August 2006, Check your I-94 date at POE if CBP officer gives you I-94 till VISA stamp or July 2004, point the mistake to him or ask for supervisor and get I-94 till Aug 2006
