RFE and FP pattern for Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr 485s

I am noticing a pattern here (or atleast wishfully thinking) in regards to all of us received FP2 recently vis-a-vis those who are also getting RFEs. I think the straight FP2s may have already been marked for 'approval' while the the others are getting RFEs in addition to the FP2s. Anyone on the forum sharing my thoughts? Given that USCIS is hastening the approval process with minimal RFEs, this seems plausible to me.

Please list some examples of those who received both FP2 and RFE together, or atleast within the same week.

It is a wishful thinking and honestly I too wish it is true. But there are many here that have got RFE's after FP2!

goni,

I've been noticing that too, however since it is so un-predictable, you can't tell. One can get and RFE after FP2 results were recieved by USCIS, and time is no measure in these cases.
Don't get me wrong, I have the same wishfull thinking....
Good luck to all of us, :) :)

EAD question

All, I did my FP2 on the 18th, and am waiting to hear from USCIS now. At the same time, I have an EAD that will expire on 3/18/2005. Now, since it's taking some time to process such requests and I am getting to the the day I need to submit my request, I am thinking there is not need to anymore (well....plus that fact that I am going to pay $110.... ;) ). Is anybody on the same boat? what do you think?

You can wait untill 90 days are left, keep option for Temporary EAD open. Local office won't give you temp EAD if your application is not post 90 days.

so basically, I should consider waiting until 12/18 (90 days prior to EAD expiration day), and go from there. Makes sense, it buys me time, in case my application moves forward with approval / RFE.
$170? makes my point even stronger..... :)

Thanks KJKOOL and HARI_OM

Slightly different opinion on the issue gvaknin: I would recommend you go ahead and file the renewal now. We all have lived through the GC hell and saving 170 bucks won't make much of a difference when you compare with the costs already incurred and pains already taken. Keep in mind that the local offices issue temporary EAD only if your case is pending 90 days + YOU DO NOT HAVE A PENDING RFE ON EAD. So, if you send the application 90 days before, and end up getting RFE on it, you may be in trouble keeping ur job.

Sending the EAD application early may actually help your 485 approval, as sometimes when they pick ur file to review EAD, they end up reviewing/approving 485.

just my 2 cents worth..

Japanese,
What is happening to your case? Are you following with your Senator!!!
It really suck!! Food (GC) is near you but you can't eat/taste it you can smell it. How long ;) ;) ;)

Brij523 -

I followed up with the senator once about my FP, but Senator Durbin's office told me specifically that NSC is processing all applications prior to May 31, 2002 and that they haven't touched mine yet.

I don't like to ruffle the feathers by calling them again. I think I will take a "wait-and-see" approach and if I don't hear anything from them by the end of Jan 2003, I will then start contacting the senators...

Good luck to you and other filers...

to xingfucun:

Why would you have FP2 if your case RD is 1/2/2004? if anything you should have FP1 OR RD of 1/2/2003. Can you please clarify?

Oh....thanks. well, if you got an RFE and responded, then your day is close. I wish you get it for Christmas, just put the letter under the tree :) oh, and if you have a laptop, put it there too, you might get the email then...... :)
Good luck!!
