is it possible to apply TN for temporary job

I was laid off last month I am looking for jobs. A recruiter found a 4-month contractor job for me. I am wondering can I apply TN at POE for this temporary job? My old TN has 3 year period. Can I apply a 4-month TN?

You must. You will get a new TN for 4 months.
