I have my interview next week at SF.

1) At the citizenship interview, do they ask Qs ONLY from the list. At the fingerprinting apptmt, they gave me a booklet and CD to prepare for interview. But it doesnt have Qs like 'Who is Mayor of your city?'

2) Some of the Qs ask u to give 1 answer like 'Name 1 tribe that lived in the US'. But other Qs just say 'Name the responsibilities of US citizens', do I have to remember ALL the answers or just 1 is enough?

3) Are these correct answers?
CA Senators:
-Barbara Boxer
-Dianne Feinstein

House of Representatives (aka Congressman/Congresswoman):
-Pete Stark: Fremont (CA's 13th District) http://www.stark.house.gov/
-Nancy Peliso; San Francisco (CA's 8th District) http://www.house.gov/pelosi/
-Mike Honda: Milpitas (CA's 15th Congressional District)

Mayors:
Fremont: Bob Wasserman
Milpitas: Jose Esteves
SF: Gavin Newsom
San Jose: Chuck Reed

Thanks!

IO will ask questions only from the published list.
One or more answers depends on the question. If the question says "name all", then you have to name all. If the question says "Name One", then you name one.

No question about mayor.

representative of house has to be one for the district where you live.
(though I am not sure if the IO really bother to figure out or not)

I thought it was Nancy Pelosi? I would strongly encouraged the OP to study and learn the civic questions and answers thoroughly in order to have a positive experience during the interview. This is an an interview which you hope NOT to slack on because being denied US citizenship because you don't know who becomes the President should both the President and Vice Presidency die suddenly will be terrible.

Nancy Pelosi is in the House of Representatives, not the Senate.

Assuming you fail the test on two separate attempts.

I just read denial rate of citizenship is 3%, 2/3 of which is due to not
passing civic and english test and 1/3 of which is due to crminal history.

B,

I was referring to the spelling of Nancy Pelosi in the OP's posting. It is not Pelosi, it is Peliso, which will create a nice bon fire at the interview. I know she is a Speaker of the House of Reps. I believe failing the interview on first occassion raises the stakes for the next interview, it is like failing GMAT on the first try, then second try is much harder and one will likely do worst...

She is the member of House and also the speaker (she is in line after Obama and Biden for president post :))

How will be next interview scheduled if one fails in first attempt? Do they get a new appt. letter OR by info. pass appt?

Thanks everyone for quick responses! Another Q: whats meant by:
-Councilman
-Local Rep

Councilman is a member of your city government. Local representative is congressperson who represents your district in the house of representatives.

sanjit66,

There is no question regarding "Councilman". Why did you need an answer for this?

CP,

The OP is a strategic planner, once he becomes a citizen, he wants to know whether he can be a councilman or a US representative in the US House of Special Interest....:)
