Is H4 visa possible after a valid H1B holder got his I485 approval ???

Dear All,

(1) I am currently a valid H-1B holder and very recently (last week actually!) I got my I-485 approved through employment based application.

(2) I am intending to marry my girl friend overseas to bring her over to join me in USA. Previously I was planning to bring her over on H4 visa...

(3) but a quick approval of my I-485 disrupted my original plan  !

My question is: Is it possible for her to get a H4 visa given the fact that I have already got my I-485 approval. Can I still maintain my valid H-1B status so that she would come on H4? Does my I485 approval status would invalidate my H-1B status?

Note: Currently I am using my valid H-1B status and would not plan to use my recently approved "green card" status any time soon, i.e. change employer etc ...

Many thanks to you guys for your suggestions or insights. Actually I am a bit hazy about to which forum to post my thorny question!

Thank you!

Interesting. You said, “but a quick approval of my I-485 disrupted my original plan” How quickly did your I-485 get approved, within 6 months? Is it EB1, 2 or 3 and from which Service Center?

A bit quick ..

Well, I got my I-140 approval in 04/2006, then my I-485 approval in 08/2006! Its unexpected rapidness caught me by a surprise and off guard
:( . I was on Eb-1, Outstandfing Researcher.

thanks.
