Hi,
Is a certified university degree enough at time of interview? I lost my High school Diploma many years ago and I only have one copy of that. Since i thought University degree is more than enough so i didn't try to apply for a certified dupplicat copy and only I have prepared a translation without notarization. Please let me know if you have the answer.

Hello. Although I have a Bachelor's of Science, a Master's of Science, and a PhD obtained from US schools, I was still advised to obtain a copy of my high school diploma (by a USCIS official on the hotline). I wrote to my high school and asked for a certified copy, just in case anyone would want to see it. Any reasonable officer would accept a university degree in lieu of the high school diploma, but you never know who you'll get. The bottom line is that it is best to have everything the officer could possibly want to see. However, if you really can't get a copy, then your university degree should suffice. By the way, I did AOS 2006 and the officer who interviewed me didn't ask to see any of my degrees.

Good luck.

! You have to get LEGALY NOTARIZED copy of High School Diploma

! You have to have OR to get LEGALY NOTARIZED copy of High School Diploma. DO EVERETHING for this. Go to Archives, go to University, pay any fees and fines BUT make LEGALY NOTARIZED copy. Just plain Xerox copy you might have could or can imply DISCVALIFICATION even before you will see Consul. First you would meet clerk who has a list of required documents. If you not satisfy clerk's requirements you are OUT without any explanations!!! Clerk will assume you could have fake University Diploma.
You still have time until Aug 20 - prepare ALL required documents.

I got worried because I don't have time, I will do my utmost to get a duplicate copy of my high school diploma but I'm sure i can not provide its certified translation. :( But I have a 3 years evidense of employment from a famous international company as a Senior Engineer which would comply the requirements. As I know we could submite evidence of 2 years work experience instead of High school Diploma, Isn't enogh?

University Diploma + 3 years evidense of employment = This sounds GOOD

This is good. You have work history established. Clerk would be suspicious for freshly obtained Diploma. All is according instructions. Good Luck!

There have been some stories of folks with College degrees who are still asked for their High School diplomas.

I had lost my high school diploma and I had only one duplicate copy of school diploma. Last month, I had applied for a job in a company and now company is calling me for interview. Is a certified university degree enough at time of interview? Please suggest me.

diploma

One of the previous posters is right...it is 3 out of 5 years of working in a job from the approved list. Proof needed like pay stubbs, tax returns...not a handwritten letter.

If you don't have that you will need a copy of your HS diploma, certified/notorized.

Don't take a risk, more NL's are given out than they have GC so they move on to the next person in line if you don't produce the proof. You had a lot of time to prepare all the documents and still have since the deadline is Sept. 30th and they might put you on adm. processing until you have the proof, unless you are lucky and the person interviewing you is not looking at it.

There are fake Universities around the world even in the US and people have come over here on F1 visa's from fake schools...so they not easily buying not having proof of a HS diploma if you don't have the tax returns or pay stubbs showing your job.
