Dear All,

Thank you for your time.

I recently moved to the states and am new to the IRS thing.I kind of worked for two days during the spring break and earned some cash.Does this put me to a previlage of paying Taxes to the government at this time?If so ,how what procedures and forms are available for me ?

There are two separate issues here:
1) Do you owe taxes? (That is, do you have to pay anything?)
2) Do you have to file tax returns? (That is, do you have to report *ALL* your income?)

Answer to #1: Maybe. It depends on a several factors. When you properly complete your tax returns you will know what you owe (or don't owe).
Answer to #2: Yes. Absolutely! You have to file you tax returns. If this your first time filing tax returns in the US then I would recomend you hook up with someone that knows what they are doing and they will show you how. I could direct you to www.irs.gov but I know it's difficult finding the information you need there. But you could give it a try. :)

Also, the IRS has a knack for digging up stuff from previous years so you need to get this right the first time.

If you worked for 2 days, I doubt that you will make any money that will require you to pay any income taxes.

You can file your tax return for 2008 using the following free online tax software programs. They are straight forward. Use the free options. You will be fine

You may have to pay tax in the US, depending on the tax treaty between your country and the US.
Talk to CPAs who understand taxation of your country and the US's.
