IR5 Visa Extension

Hello- I sponsored green card for my parents living in USA. They went through the interview +medical process and got their IR5 visa through US embassy in India.

Unfortunately my dad is not doing well since he got his IR5 visa and is unable to travel to US before his visa expires by Sep’23 end.

How can I apply for his visa expiry extension so he doesn’t have to go through the interview and medical exams again?

Any help will be appreciated!!

There's no way to extend the visa expiry date without having to submit a new medical report following the expiration of the currently issued visa.
 
Thank you so much for your response. Besides medical, do they need to go for interview again too? Also do I need to resubmit all the forms and documents that I submitted originally?
 
He may be required to attend a new interview (which is quite rare). The embassy will let you know if he needs to when you get to that stage. Otherwise, if he's able to manage the trip, I would recommend he undertakes it as against allowing the visa to expire.
