IR processing times at CHENNAI-INDIA Consulate TRACKER

I am getting ready to send in my civil documents and then have to wait for the interview and medical letter. I am gad it is all slowly coming to an end.

Hi RP75,
Just got an email from NVC stating that my case is done processing at NVC and is beeing transferd to Chennai Consulate for further processing. I call the NVC, the guy told me that the appointments for May in chennai are full, so i have to wait for June. And the date for june will be scheduled in the 2 nd week of may. so he told me call NVC on 9 May to find out the appointment day.

Congratulations!!!! bigbull 99. I will be in India in June so can I go with my mom for the interview since i am a citizen?

Wow thats cool, I still havent heard anything from them. I saw in your earlier post that they requested your original marriage certificate, do they require it in spite of the original birth certificate.

Hi,
No, they wanted my original Marriage certificate and my original Birth Certificate. Since my Birth certificates was from india i got it notarised and sent it. and i sent in the original usa marriage certificate.
 
oh ok my I 864 is still under review so I am waiting to hear from them. the DS 230 documents retched them only last week.

Hi,
Call them exactly after 10 working days your Package reached NVC. they will tell you whts going on. dont wait till they send you an email. thats what i did.
 
Hi,

I called several times to see if they recd the I 864 for which I recd a rfe. but they keep saying they haven't recd it yet. So requested for a supervisor to review it and let me know. I dont know what else to do.

Hi,
I dont think the person answering the phones will know if our mail was recieved, only after 10 working days they will up date the system, It then they will be able to see, wait for 10-12 working days call the nvc and ask for up date on the case.
 
according to my mail receipt the mail was delivered on April 5th so it has been a month since they recd so not sure what really happ to my documents so that why requested for s review. On the other hand i sent my DS 230 documents very recently so i can understand why it is not updated yet.
 
I finally heard from NVC that there is no more rfe on my AOS. SO as soon as they process my DS230 they would send out an interview date. Mostly it will happen in the next few days and I am thinking the interview will be sometime in JUne/July beginning.

Hi,
I think June is full, If you get your papers done by May 16th then you have good chances of getting it in June, or July will be the best bet. My dad is going for the Medical at apollo on 30the May.They said it will take 2 days. for the medical to be done. hope they do it with out give us a run around.
 
Yes i am thinking the same. Let me know how the medical went with your dad, we will be doing the medical at apollo too.
 
My birth certificate is computer generated with seal and stamp from the official site but not original so I have to get it from the Chennai office and other than that everything else looks like its going smoothly. So mostly the interview will be in Aug.

Hi,
It went well. I was worried, But honestly, it is not a big deal, He went there on 28 saturday, filled out the forms, doctor did physical, gave him 3 vaccins, and told to get the 2nd dose of one vaccine next mounth any where.My dad told them he will be going to USa on 18th June, They sad he can get it in usa. They took Rs6500. They told him to come on 30 and get the sealed cover. So he went on Monday 30th and got the sealed cover. The doctor said every thing looks good. So he has to go for the interview on 6th monday. Hope fully every thing goes fine on 6th. Little bit worried.
 
Good news that is nice to know everything will go well. Will keep him in my prayers. Thanks for sharing. I am waiting for the interview letter but then found out 864 has some mistakes so corrected it and sent it. Will take another another two weeks before I know anything. SO the waiting starts again and I am leaving to India on 14th hopefully will hear something before then.
