Iowa SESA Tracker

Should Apply from Iowa?

I have to start a new labor case. Based on your experience and comparative evaluations since your processing began, do you think I should apply from Iowa. Or should I choose NH/ Maine?

Folks, please update SESA / DOL movements

My attorney told that my IOWA LC filing (RIR) was done during 4th week of May 2004. Hoping to see some movement from SESA to DOL. Any updates from earlier applicants would help.

IOWA Approval

I have always been looking at this forum for updates on SESA approvals. Now its my moral duty to update you. My case was filed on 9th Feb. 2004. GOD's Grace, it got approved at the IOWA SESA level on June 22nd.
But folks there's bad NEWS too. Chicago forecast shows it will be 18 months from now to get the Regional approval. Well so don't get excited to get the SESA approval, since its only the beginning.

Wish you all, the very best of luck. Keep this forum going.

Chicago DOL approval projection

How did you arrive at the 18 month wait for Chicago DOL approval? Is it based on three months delay for 1 months processing? Hoping for something better!

Probable delays at SESA

Let the forum rolling with updates guys....!!! I called my lawyer two weeks back and came to know that SESA or DOL (i dont remember exactly) recruited a new Analyst to sort out the pending/backlog applications...!!! Instead of making things better, he/she messed up the things...and they are working again to bring the sitaution to normal state (ie no progresss?) Lets wait n watch.....!!!

I am planning to apply for the Labor in Iowa State trhough RIR.
Whether anyone's labor approved from IOWA -State/ Chicago- Federal through RIR / Non RIR recently? If so how many months it took?

Please do reply.

Thanks in advance.

hey guys, we in the chicago forum are creating a petition to be submitted to senators and speed up the labor process in chicago DOL..it used to take 2 months for approval early in the year and now its like 9 months and pending for more delay....and we are all in the dark regarding our future with reports predicting more delays or predicting sending new cases to the already delayed philly and dallas regions..we need answers right now and would like your help to join in the petition by adding your name (you will see it in the chicago DOL thread)...after your state approvals, we will probably see you in the chicago forum - so this helps you guys too. thanks!

Urgent Help needed please...

Dear Friends,
I am in a situation wherein my parent company had to terminate contract with my client. Because of this they let me go. I was able to find another project, but I do not want to go back to my old parent company. This new client wants me to join asap and now I'm looking for a company who can sponsor my H1 & GC as well. If you know any reliable company please PM or send me a email at startdsl@yahoo.com
Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
DS

Receipt for Labor Application.

Hi,

My employer applied my labor in june in IOWA. I am asking for the receipt that confirms my application went to IOWA. He told that IOWA doesn’t produce any receipt’s. Can any of you guys confirm this. Is there anyway where I can find my application went to IOWA State Labor.

I will appreciate if anybody answer my query.

-Shaik.

SESA Iowa

Shaik12...this info might be helpful to you.
According to my lawyer, my case was filled on apr 7, 2004 but i have not provided any receipt. So I found Iowa SESA number from internet and called and found that my case has been received by IOWA SESA on 4/7. But the bad part of the story is that they have not yet processed that. I though that my case has already been approved and is now in chicao.

Due to the forum rules, I can not post the phone number. You can email me syedusa@gmail.com. I can provide you the number.

Any recent approvals from IOWA SESA/SWA?

Hi,

Did anyone get his/her case approved from IOWA SWA/SESA recently ? As the website mentions April,2004 as the currently processed month,it would be really nice to know from someone who had his/her priority date in April 2004 & already got his/her case approved.

Thanks,
IOWA_LC

IOWA Moving at snail's pace

Hi,

I have filed for LC (Iowa-SESA) in May 2004. During the past 6 months almost no movement. One month moves in 2 or 3 months. Probably they are not processing, since Chicago is not moving forward. Chicago DOL must be pushing them back to hold-on to their cases!

Is there a way to call them? If so, is it advisable??

Any updates would be appreciated.

Regards

Iowa moving like Earth Worm!

Mine was April 4th, not yet processed till last week!
Looks like everyone is sleeping!
Good luck.

shocking news. rir and regular in the SAME queue in BRCS

01/21/2005: DOL Backlog Reduction Processing Update

The DOL did not disclose in details a number of issues in the PERM Briefings which the consumers were interested in. It turned out that some of these issues had been discussed with the AILA in telephone conference before the PERM Briefing sessions began. Some of these issues had been answered as follows:
Status of Processing at the Backlog Processing Centers:
The cases which were transferred from the Regional Offices were processed first. For these cases, initial letters have been being sent out. Once the responses come back from the applicants, they will start adjudicating the cases. The current state is as follows:
Dallas, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Regions Cases: Data entry for these cases has been completed and letters have been sent out and the Backlog Centers are awaiting the responses for further processing and adjudication.
Chicago and Atlanta Regions Cases: These cases have been transferred to the Backlog Centers later and currently being data-entried. Once the data entry is completed, letters will be sent out the applicants as it did with the Dallas, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Regions cases.
The cases which were transferred from the SWA (state offices) are at the stage of data entry. Once data entry is completed, the same steps will be taken as described above.
Processing Queue per FIFO: Shockingly, there are no separate queues between RIR and Regular cases and both RIR and Regular cases are being processed on FIFO in a single national queue. Consequently, RIR cases will experience a substantial delay once the cases are transferred to the Backlog Centers!!
Opened Cases vs. Unopened Cases: Under the Transition Guideline, unopened cases have been transferred to the Backlog Centers and opened cases will be completed by the SWAs. The definition of "opened cases" is the application packages which are at the SWAs in unopened boxes or where no letters have been issued by the SWAs to the applicants. Accordingly, those who received a letter from the state offices may be completed at the state offices rather than being transferred to the Backlog Centers.
Notification of Address Changes of the Applicants or Attorneys: If one knows that his/her case has been transferred to the Backlog Centers, the notification should be addressed to the Backlog Centers. If one does not know, DOL suggests to such notification to both the Backlog Center and the SWA office.
Address of Certifying Officers and SWA in the Notice Posting for Cases to be Filed before 03/28/2005: People should follow the same rules and requirements under the current labor certification regulation. Thus the notice posting should direct the public to file misrepresentation or complaints to the office of Certifying Officer's office and the state labor certification unit. Remember, though, some Regions, addresses have been changed: Chicago and Atlanta offices.

Master Tracker

Hello all,

I am trying to create a master tracker that will help all of us determine where we all fall in the BEC queue.

My goal is to consolidate into a single tracker all pending labor certifications from all STATES and all DOLs.

This will help us in the long run to better understand how BECs will be processing our cases.

I have attached an empty tracker. I will return next Friday, February 11 to “pick it up”.

At that time I will merge all sub-trackers into a single one and post it in the DOL forums section.

I hope you find value in doing this and participate. If your forum has a tracker already, it would be great if someone volunteers and populates the tracker I have posted.

Since it will be hard for me to check all forums next week, if you have any questions, please send me a Private Message.

Thank you for your help

IOWA - RIR Labor Pending

Any cases of RIR in IOWA ?
I filed regular in nov 2003 - was slow. cancelled it and filed RIR in August 2004
Any idea on Labor on RIR from IOWA - ??
Any one else from IOWA in the forum?

In Texas backlog -

1. is this treated state wise?

2. RIR and Regular separate??

3. any guess on RIR Time ?

Gc Dreamer,
I found in Murthy.com that RIR and Regular are treated in different pools at backlog processing centers.
Not sure about it .From where did u get the information that both are in same pool.
