interview

So that mistake has a logical explanation, which is important. You should prepare an affidavit that this name is an alias you use. That should probably also be noted on your 260 form, and I assume you have other documents that show this alias so you should take them.

They will search for entries made in your other name to check if it was an attempt to submit multiple entries.
thank you for that information. and when can i learn my exact date of interview? that guy said it is may-june 2015

So it is NOT a mistake. Your name is written on your notification letter exactly like YOU submitted it.
So now if his passport shows his real name and the birth certificate as well, but the 1st nl has a different spelling name, will an affidavit suffice to convince the CO?

In the OP's case, things haven't gone too far. He needs to ensure his name is spelt out on the DS form exactly as it is on his passport and possible birth certificate. The other variation should be noted under the 'Other Name' or 'Alias' section of the form.

Since he says he's always used the other variation, it would help if he has some other documents such as certificate or national ID(?) showing this variation he's always used. Of course having a sworn affidavit attesting to the name variations will also helped.

I'm wondering the same thing ! Because I have a similar case on my kids BC :(

Did you list the different variations used on your son's DS-260 form? If no, and the issue is related to the baby you had not too long ago, it's really not a problem. For starters, the kid is not the main selectee and secondly, the kid is practically too young to have committed any crime you might be trying to hide by not listing the correct name, so stop stressing. They will basically go with what's written on his passport to issue his GC.

Ok first let me update you about my case:
Remember my wife passport issue, that is now definitely fixed, I applied for a temporary pasport for her and my second son just to make sure, I have them before the medicals and the interview, and I also applied for normal passport just to see if hers will come back rectified!
So now I have received all passport with the right spelling :)
My second problem is on my both sons BC.
When I applied for their full birth C like this:
My first son BC is perfect all his moms details shows and mine except my city of birth is mis spelled!
The second one the same story with my city of birth mis spelled too, and on my name they typed a T instead of I .
I tried to convince the home affairs to sign me an affidavit they refused.
They said I must just for few month for a rectification.
But I'm planning to write my own sworn affidavit and get legalised at the police station, not that I doubted simon's knowlegde, but I was just trying to get as much option as possible if there is :)
So now this is my last heck on my application.
Simon ensured me tthat is not a problem, but I m still panicking, since its one lifes time chance !
What do you say mom?

OP's issue is different way of writing a transliteration from another alphabet. Quite frankly I could see instantly why there were two spellings. Think of (bad example but) Gadaffi, Qaddafi etc. Especially if he is interviewing in Russia I don't think this will be an issue.

Vladdy, here's what we're gonna do: some breathing exercise:

So step back, take a deep breath in ...... slowly exhale (wooosaa), another deep breath in ..... exhale slowly (wooosaa) ..... do that a couple of times

You get my drift? R.E.L.A.X! Stop trying to see problems where there's none. Like Simon already told you, there's no problem with your case.

Lolol my wife is now also now doing the breathing exercise ;)
You know what?! I think I'm done with stressing game about the my application :)
Big thanks to you mom, and my big buddy simon.
I'm so glad I joined this forum, the emotional and practical help I get in here is worth the world to me.
Cheers

Vladek, I have the same issue. My kids' birth certificates have a few minor errors (ie under my place of birth, it's listed as the city but not the place of birth as listed on my birth certificate). My wedding certificate has the same error. I've applied to have them corrected and am also waiting for formal notification of the change.

But you are spot on re the support of this forum. It's truly phenomenal and the fact that you guys all do it for free, as a genuinely altruistic gesture, is rare but awesome.
