Interview Status(Pending Supervisor Review)

Let me summarize a few points:

(1) A significant number of people make this kind of mistake. Although those who do not make such mistake say USCIS instructions are clear enough, I think USCIS can still improve by stressting 90
days is not 3 month and even give an exampkle of such mistake. Or better a built-in calculator can be put in teh N400 PDF form

(2) It is too late for those who already make such mistake. Discussing this is useless for them and they have only one thing to do : reapply

(3) Discussing this is helful to future applicants. If we want future applicants not to make this mistake, then we discuss. If we want to gloat over future applicants's mistake, we better not discuss and only
potin tout after they make mistake.

Something like this happened to me as well. I filed my N400 along with my husband and son in early december last year. Though, I knew my Green card anniversary was not at the same time as my son and husband, I thought they would consider the case of a family. My application was accepted (I was happy), I got my FP notice, I got my IL notice and my interview was on same day as my son and husband. Their cases got approved without any problem. During my interview, I passed all the questions but towards the end the officer said I have not passed my 5 year anniversary date as yet. He rejected my case and wrote that I can apply after 7/26/2010.

Yes, they took money for the application and raised false hopes but no one can do anything.

So I applied again on 7/28/2010 (waited two more days than whey they said to apply). This time around i did not get a FP notice because I got a letter in mail stating that my old FP is still valid. Now I am waiting for my case to be transferred and to receive interview letter from fairfax, VA office.

Don't know why Fairfax, VA office is taking so much time this time around.

Hi Asylee104, are you sure IO did not make a mistake (or may be you made a mistake in replying to my post). In reply to my post about my timeline, you stated that you have been a permanent resident since 2003 like me. If you first applied in early December 2009 which is 6 years, more than what is required to be eligible, may be the IO miscalculated something to deny you based on you applying early.

@fairlakes, sorry. I made a mistake in replying to your post. At the time of my interview in February when IO rejected my case, my 5 year anniversary was not complete yet.

@WBH, of course not! I believe the 75$ still went to the FP department. At this point getting that refunded is the least bit of my problems. I'm just eagerly waiting for the interview letter :(
