Folks,

My citizenship interview is scheduled for this Friday. My history is as follows:

Entered the US via crossing border through canada. Filed for asylum and received work authorization for several years, went to school and got married. My wife was in the process of being sponsored for green card through her employer. We got married and before she filed her I-140. My wife's case was successful and we both received green cards under Section 245i. Also, I terminated my asylum application. I was never in deportation proceedings.

Questions:

Do I need to worry about anything related to my asylum application?
Would be being out of status and entering US illegally have any impact? I was granted green card under section 245i - adjustment of status
Besides driver license, green card, tax transcript, marriage license....what else should i bring for the interview?

Thanks everyone.

What do you mean by you entered the US illegally? When you crossed over from Canada you immediately applied for asylum, correct?

Dont worry about your asylum case cause you got yourGC from your wife(derivative)
If your under 245 i you are Ok cause you paid that penalty( come in and work in the US illegaly) when you apply your AOS
just bring anything everything and review your N-400 and it will be smooth

Yes entered without inspection. Got green card under section 245i

If it was disclosed and taken care of during the GC process, then it should not be a problem; otherwise why would USCIS
give a GC in order to take it back? So the green card is safe and I don't think permanent bar to citizenship include
entry into USA without inspection so that citizenship should not be a problem either.

So what you should do is to convince yourself that the issue was indeed taken care of during the green card application.
After that just go ahead to apply for ctizenship. The only way to get a definite answer is from USCIS by actual applying.
Any other way of specuulating answer does not mean anything

WBH and Lighthouse - thanks for your comments.

Check JohnCash's thread for that purpose. But I think JognnyCash's list is way too much. At least it shiould place doc into say three level
based upon priority.
