Interview cancelled

I just received a letter that my interview has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. My questions are -
1. Is it common to have your interview cancelled? Has anyone received such a notice?
2. How long does USCIS take to reschedule interview?
 
1.- Is not common but it is not unheard of either, several people have gotten those.
2.- Who knows. Maybe 1 month or 2, but you could try to still show up on your appointment date if you have not received a reschedule date by then.

When is your original interview date?
 
My AOS interview was canceled as well, “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
I received new interview letter two months later. Hope it helps. Good luck!

If you still havent received another interview notice, you should go on the date of the original one (cancelled one) and if you go, let me know what happened since I received the same cancellation notice but I'm still gonna go on the original date, good luck

Jane,

Just show up for the original interview, act as if you never received the cancellation notice. However, if they ask for a cancellation which they mailed, then produce....:cool: IF they do indicate that they have cancelled the interview, request that they stamp your original interview letter, so that they cannot claim that you never showed up...:(

We have seen people who received similar cancellation letters and never showed up, but later received a denial letter for failure to show up at the interview. So, just show up and see what they tell you....:(

My initial I-485 interview was canceled as well. For several months I did not here from USCIS. I had to call the 1800 number to query them before I got another date. I did not show up on the initial interview date though.

How long did it take for you to receive your rescheduled interview, mine was canceled 2 months ago and I still havent received the rescheduled interview yet
 
I hate to be bearer of bad news... I had an interview scheduled on Jan 15th 2007 (in vermont) which was martin luther king day and then they cancelled that and rescheduled it on Feb 7th and cancelled that as well. I did not hear from them until about 2 weeks ago (more than a year later) and now i am scheduled to go wednesday.

Hope yours doesnt take as long.
