Internship for company other than H1B sponsor

Hi

I'm joining business school starting this fall and am in a difficult situation so I'll appreciate your help/comments.

I've completed almost 6yrs on H1B and I'm planning to start full time school this fall. My employer is ok transferring me to a part time H1B but with that I'm not sure if I'll be able to do an internship with a different employer, next summer, which is a crucial part of the program.

So I want to find out if it's possible to do an internship (for 3 months) with a company other than the company sponsoring my H1B?

If I do convert to the part time H1B I will also be filing for my I-140 and I-485.

To do internship or work with a employer other than a H1 sponser , either you need separate/concurrent H1b or a F1/OPT.

So I want to find out if it's possible to do an internship (for 3 months) with a company other than the company sponsoring my H1B?
