Interm EAD

Dear Friends,

I want to know if the local USCIS office still issues interm EADs, if my EAD application takes more than 30 days (asylum applicant) can i go to the local office & get one?

As far as I know, interim EADs are a thing of the past now. I may be wrong however.

Right. You can't get Interim EAD. You can apply for it and show the receipt to your employer.

According to I-765 instructions which expires 08/31/2008, it says we still can do it. please advice, normaly how long would it take to issue an EAD for asylum applicant?

Instruction are WRONG. Search on this forum and you will see that the Interim EAD's were discontinued in late 2006/2007.


You CANNOT receive an interim EAD anymore. I know from experience.
